01

Replacement

Metal Roofing

Standing seam or metal panel systems. A longer service life and a different detailing discipline, particularly at penetrations and terminations.

What this involves

Where metal earns it

  • Long uninterrupted runs with few things coming through them
  • A pitch shallow enough that shingle would be working against gravity
  • An owner who'll be there long enough to see the second half of its life

02

Inspection

Roof Inspection

A condition report with photographs, so where the roof actually stands is established before anything is decided.

What gets looked at

  • The roof space first where it can be reached safely — daylight, damp, staining on the deck
  • The covering across every elevation, not the worst slope
  • Every penetration in turn: vents, flues, pipe boots, skylights
  • Valleys, and every junction where the roof meets a wall or a chimney

03

Repair

Roof Repair

Leaks, lifted or missing shingles, flashing and penetrations — traced to where the water actually enters, repaired, then checked.

What you are seeing

  • A stain on a ceiling or a wall, wet or long dried
  • Shingles lifted, cracked, curling or missing after wind
  • Granules collecting in the gutters or at the downspout
  • Daylight or damp visible in the roof space

The rest of the list

The particular jobs, by what has gone wrong.

The 3 above are where most conversations start. These are what they usually turn out to be once somebody has been up and looked — and each one has its own page.

When something is wrong01

  1. Storm Damage

Assessment and documentation of wind and hail damage, photographed and written up while the evidence is still on the roof.

Adding to the roof01

  1. Gutter Installation

Gutters and downspouts sized and pitched so water leaves the roof and the foundation alone.

The next step

Not sure which of those it is?

Most people are not, and picking wrongly costs you nothing here. Say what you are seeing and the inspection decides.
