Demonstration case study. A worked example on a demonstration account. It is not a job carried out for a customer, and it is here to show what a write-up on this site contains.
The job
Found, done, finished.
- 01
What was happening
A low-pitch addition had been shingled at a pitch the covering was never rated for. It had been patched twice and was staining the ceiling below at every prolonged rain.
- 02
What was done
Stripped the addition to deck, replaced two runs of decking, and laid a mechanically-seamed standing seam panel with a high-temperature underlayment and a reworked headwall flashing into the main roof.
- 03
Where it ended
The addition now carries a covering rated for its pitch. The ceiling was left to dry and repainted by the owner after a dry month.

If you're weighing one
The decision came before the roof did.
Nobody should replace a roof on age alone, and nobody should patch one for the third time either. An hour on your roof is what tells you which of those you're looking at.
